Sweets S. Wilson, PhD, LMSW, LADC, CCDVC
Sweets S. Wilson, a native of Harlem, New York, is the daughter of immigrants from Jamaica, West Indies and Cuba. She
earned a PhD, in biblical studies /counseling from Biblical Life College and Seminary; and obtained a master’s degree in
social work from the University of Connecticut. She is a licensed domestic violence counselor and licensed alcohol and drug
counselor. She also holds certificates in forensic social work and women’s studies.
Sweets has an eclectic social work background that includes behavioral health, families, children and forensics. Since
entering the field of social work, Sweets has been active in serving the community on issues pertaining to the African
American and the Caribbean Community at large. She has served as vice president of finance for the West Indian
Foundation; financial secretary for the West Indian Social Club of Hartford; and is a member of the Greater Hartford
Alliance of Black Social Workers. Sweets is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and First Cathedral Counseling
Ministry. In 2007, Sweets served as treasurer for Hartford, CT Councilwoman Veronica Airey. In 2009, City of Hartford
Mayor Eddie Perez honored Sweets with a citation for outstanding community service.
An educator, Sweets’ is an adjunct professor at Capital Community College, an author, motivational speaker, Christian life
purpose coach, freelance columnist and chief executive officer of Inspire ME, LLC, located in Hartford, Connecticut, a
motivational consulting firm that empower individuals to adapt a more positive attitude to achieve what they desire in life.
Sweets resides in Hartford, CT, with her daughter. She is committed to helping people improve their personal power and
maximize their potential in order to achieve their individual and professional goals. She attributes whatever success she
achieved to divine blessings, hard work and steadfast dedication
